Among the ever-growing list of broken campaign promises by Barack Obama is the one where he pledged to close Guantanamo Bay within one year of taking office. During his campaign, Obama said it was a “sad chapter in American history.” Then, this week, the Times Online broke a story that our fearless leader has been considering transferring the remaining Guantanamo detainees to an Afghan prison currently located on a U.S. military base.

With all the minor adjustments Nancy Pelosi is making to the potential costs of health care in order to get more Democrats on board, everyone seems to be forgetting one thing: What happens when the individual mandate is declared unconstitutional and all that expected revenue is lost? The individual mandate has been of particular focus this week in relation to the potential expansion of IRS powers.

This week the Supreme Court agreed to take an appeal from a Federal appellate decision that overturned a multi-million dollar tort verdict awarded to Albert Snyder, the father of late Marine Matthew Snyder. Matthew was tragically killed in Iraq back in 2006. When his father held his funeral at a Catholic church in Maryland, a group from Kansas’ Westboro Baptist Church, a church composed mostly of a single extended family, drove to Maryland to protest Matthew’s funeral with witty signs like “God Hates the USA,” “Fag troops,” “You’re going to hell,” “God hates you,” “Semper fi fags,” and “Thank God for Dead Soldiers.”

The Huffington Post wrote an article on Monday discussing the implications of the Chicago hand gun ban that was considered by the Supreme Court this week. It wasn’t that long of an article, but they still managed to prove how legally ignorant and self-serving their left-leaning “reporting” is.
