No doubt one reason Winston Churchill famously remarked that “democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others that have been tried” was that democracy occasionally produces an administration that listens to and implements mildly insane and wildly inane economic policy. Or, as Einstein observed, the definition of insanity is repeating the same action while expecting different results.
